Meet Pili.

I was delighted to.  Then I drove her 1,000 Klms home to the Outpost.

Moshi the cat is less thrilled. She has, since Pili’s arrival yesterday evening, worn an expression of outraged ‘What the F***??!!‘.  She has spat alot in Pili’s direction, stalked about the house bearing a demeanour that says it all, ‘Who the hell is that?’ and hurled feline abuse that makes my hair, and hers, stand on end.

Not Pili’s though, she thinks it’s all part of the fun; that she has discovered the back door is safely mosquito meshed heightens her enjoyment: she can torment Moshi by hurling herself at the mesh and barking without the slightest risk of getting her eyes clawed out.

She would love to chase Scal around the garden, Scal who isn’t as outraged as Moshi but is a little nervous of the newcomer so not ready to be chased, she hasn’t bought me back any of the flamboyant pods I throw for her but my, she makes me laugh.

  3. Mud Says:

How lovely! And why the name? I am undergoing puppy withdrawal at the moment and hating every moment!

Pili in Kiswahili would be the second born and a girl. My pili is not my second lab; i’ve had a few.

but hoa pili in hawaiin means close companion.

so a compromise. and Pili she is! x

One of my best friends at school was called Pili – but she was Italian/Spanish, so no idea where the name came from there. In any case, your Pili looks gorgeous. Well done x

Welcome Pili! There is NOTHING on earth like the joy that is “puppy”!

  7. Carol Says:

Glad Pili having fun! And I’m sure Scally will soon join in with her games, but Moshi – doubt it – cats are too serious and grown-up for puppy games!

She’s lovely! I love puppies when they are in their plump, rolly polly phase, waddling and bouncing around. Enjoy her goofiness!

Welcome Pili, puppies are such fun and I don’t know why but I just love that puppy smell…(not the one they leave behind sofas but the one that they just have!) our old girl is feeling the cold and wobbling as we go for walks. Funny in London people look adoringly at puppies as you walk them, scowl or appear terrified of middle aged ones and then look adoringly at old dogs! so suddenly our old girl is getting lots of attention again!

pili is just beautiful! enjoy every minute of her 🙂

thank you all: she is adorable isn’t she. daisyfae, sophia: no, nothing like a puppy for thier rolypoly clumsiness, and Mapesbury i know exactly what you mean about that puppy smell, it’s heavenly, like a babys hair. i keep hauling Pili into my arms to inhale deeply. She wriggles and squirms for life is too exciting to be breathed in, it must be raced through and dragged and chewed and yes, occassinaly, pee’d on. she is very spoiled. when she is bored of her own bed, at about 4am, she weeps to be lifted into ours. the little rat has eaten two buttons on my mobile phone this morning. I am not going to disssect the necessary to retrieve them. I shall instead stick a pin to my phone to use in lieu of the z and the x.
